Trying To Get Paid 3:250:00/3:25
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Chad Baker discovered his passion for country music at an early age, encouraged by a family that supported his creative development. He began writing and performing while still in his teens, quickly establishing himself within the local music scene. By age 14, Baker was performing at open mic nights and local venues, securing his first paid performance at 15. Throughout high school, he and his band played extensively across Northeast Ohio, building a reputation for their authentic sound and compelling live performances.
After graduating, Baker relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, arriving with limited resources but a clear commitment to pursuing a career in music. He immersed himself in the city’s vibrant music culture, balancing day jobs with nightly performances along Lower Broadway while continuing to develop his songwriting and stage presence.
In 2015, Baker launched his first self-booked acoustic tour to California, which evolved into the Wild West Acoustic Tour in 2016. The tour included 22 performances across 16 states in under two months, marking a significant milestone in his independent touring career. He returned to the western United States in 2019 with a full band, completing a 7,000-mile tour that featured 15 shows over 17 days.
Chad Baker has shared the stage with nationally recognized artists including Terri Clark, Parmalee, Casey Donahew, Bryan Martin, Josh Thompson, Creed Fisher, Wade Hayes and Sundy Best. He has released five singles and a full-length studio album, with additional projects currently in development, including a sophomore album and an EP.
Today, Baker continues to tour extensively at the local, regional, and national levels. His journey from Akron to Nashville reflects his dedication to his craft, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to delivering honest, heartfelt country music.
